The artist's studio is sited in a bowl-like meadow surrounded by hills and mountains. The design is a raw assembly of distinctly dissimilar building elements: A painting and sculpture studio clad in stucco with a saw tooth roof is joined to a sleeping / poetry tower clothed in rolled metal siding and trimmed with timber decks and awnings. The tower is also coupled to a shingle-clad greatroom containing a kitchen, living and dining area. The gathering of these elements into a compound breaks the vast surroundings into a series of individual vignettes.
